| Comments: | I was on the '77 and '78 crews, Carried a brush hook along with Marshall Turner in '77, then solo in '78. I remember fighting fires pretty much nonstop, day and night, in the Angeles and forests all over CA both seasons. Some memorable ones include the Lincoln Fire (best comeback performance by a Hotshot crew - I got leveled by a helicopter water drop) and the Marble Cone Fire (the Big One - I was part of the group that got trapped in the burn when it blew up in the morning along with Marshall, my buddy Joe Caughlin and Fox, among others). Sorry I missed the reunion in 2010, but would be up for the next one and to hear from any others from those years. Glad to hear that Walt and Mike and Pete are doing well - you guys kept us alive and safe out there! Little T Forever! |

We moved back to New England where he got employed with the Dover City Fire Department. He recently retired at the age of 55. I was on the first fire in Big Sur, and did a lot of local brush clearing, but don't recall much else. I would like to hear from others who were on the crew at the same time. |

It has some great workouts and suggestions for any hotshot crew. Granted the crew is physically fit, I thought this might benefit you as far as improving your crews physical fitness level. Also,I was curious if I could get some career advice per say, on the next step i should take towards becoming a firefighter. | Comments: | I was on Crew 1 of the El Cariso Hot Shots during the summer of 1966. I established contact with several of the former El Cariso guys last year and we met October 22, 2010, at the California Wildland Fire Fighters Memorial, Cleveland National Forest, on the Ortega Highway, west of Lake Elsinore, California. We also visted the site of the old El Cariso Hot Shot camp (No longer in existence) and the current El Cariso Hot Shots Regional Center. We were privileged to meet with the El Cariso Hot Shots and visit with them. On Saturday, October 23, 2010, we were honored to attend the 40th anniversary and reunion of the Little Tujunga Hot Shots at the Little Tujunga Station. What an outstanding and enjoyable event this was! Thank you Little T for being "Keeper of the Rock", the memorial to the El Cariso Hot Shots who perished on the Loop Fire, November 1, 1966. |

I very much enjoyed seeing and talking to all the guys/gals from the past and present crews and Bob Garcia and his crew did an outstanding job of putting on this event. It was also good to have the members of the 1966 El Cariso HS there with us to enjoy the day. Thanks to all who attended and making it a success, but I wish more would of been able to make it. Doug McCoy came from Alaska, Lorenzo Valdez came from New Mexico and Jeff Luff from Idaho. Many more came from Nevada, Utah and Nothern Cal. A dedicated bunch of "Goons"!!! I can still get reunion t-shirts if anybody still wants one. Larry Sall can get the caps. Thanks for all the memories, Rod |

| Comments: | My hat is off to the Little Tujunga Hot Shots. For over 44 years now the Little T engine and hotshot crew has taken care of the 1966 Loop Fire site. They are also called with deep respect the "Keeper of the Rock " This rock is located in front of their station and lists the names of 12 fireman from the El Cariso Hotshot crew that lost there life on the 1966 Loop Canyon fire. |

Even though my professional journey diverted from fire it has been those first years at a Little T Hotshot crewman I remember with the greatest fondness.
